Statement: It was not easy to jury. On my first pass I selected 78 then went back twice and edited down to get to 65. The next step – picking the winners and honorable mentions – was even harder. I had to divorce myself from art that I really liked at that point and focus on pieces that were unusual in process, technique, or media , choosing those pieces that pushed the envelope or were most complex in other words. To that end:
